15 World’s Biggest Aluminium Producers– Based on the World Mining Data in 2021, there are 15 World’s Biggest Aluminium Producers in 2019. This document was published by International Organizing Committee for The World Mining Congresses.  In general, aluminum is a very light metal, so it is widely used in making components and equipment for several industrial fields. cans, aluminum foils, kitchen tools, window frames, and airplane parts are some of the products that need aluminum as raw material. Structurally, aluminum has very strong properties, fairly good resistance to temperature changes, is elastic, corrosion-resistant, a good electrical conductor, odorless, and impermeable.

Statistically, here are 15 World’s Biggest aluminum producers based on the World Mining Data in 2021. These countries are aluminum countries that have absolutely huge production of aluminum.

1.China

China becomes the biggest producer of aluminium in 2019. Statistically, the production of China’s aluminum reaches 35,043,600 metric tons. Based on the production area, there are some provinces with the biggest production of aluminium in China.  These provinces are Henan Province, Shandong Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Shanxi Province, Guizhou Province. Based on the business,  In this country, there are some biggest aluminium companies. These companies are Chalco, Hongqiao, Xinfa, East Hope Group Company Limited, and China Power Investment Corp. (CPI)


2.Russia

Russia is the second-biggest producer of aluminium in 2019. Statistically, the production of Russia’s aluminium achieved 3,637,000 metric tons. in this country, there is the biggest company of aluminium by output production. This is Rusal, founded in 2007, that has its main office in Moscow.


3.India 

India becomes the biggest producer of aluminium in 2019. Statistically, the production of Mahatma Gandhi’s country achieved 3,635,089 metric tons. Based on the states in India, Odisha, West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh are some of the biggest producers of aluminium. Furthermore, there are some companies that have forefront in India’s aluminium. These companies are National Aluminium Co. Ltd, Hindalco Industries Ltd, Bharat Aluminium Co. Ltd, and Vedanta Aluminium Ltd.


4.Canada           

Canada is the 4th biggest producer of aluminium in 2019. Statistically, the production of Canada’s aluminium reached 2,853,771 metric tons. Quebec, Kitimat, and British Columbia are some provinces that became the production bases of aluminium. Alcoa, Aluminerie Alouette, and Rio Tinto are some companies in Canada that have role in Aluminium production in Canada.


5.United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is the 5th biggest producer of aluminium in 2019. Statistically, the production of Aluminium from the United Arab Emirates reached 2,579,000 metric tons. Emirates Global Aluminium is the leader in Aluminium producer in U.A.E. This company is formed by the merger between Dubai Aluminium (Dubai) and Emirates Aluminium (Emal) in 2013.


6.Australia

Australia is the 6th biggest producer of aluminium in 2019. Statistically, the production of Aluminium from Australia reached 1,569,591 metric tons. Western Australia is the area of Aluminium production area. Based on the company, there is Alcoa of Australia that has a production area in Australia. Alcoa of Australia opens the first alumina refinery at Kwinana, Pinjarra, and Wagerup (Western Australia)


7.Bahrain          

Bahrain is the 7th biggest producer of Aluminium in 2019. Statistically, the production of Aluminium from Bahrain reached 1,365,005 metric tons. Based on production, Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba) is one and main the first built smelter of aluminium in Bahrain. Alba basically is owned by some companies. Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company owns 69.38% of the share of Alba, SABIC Investment Company owns 20.62% of shares and the General Public.


8.Norway          

Norway is the 8th biggest producer of Aluminium in 2019. Statistically, the production of Aluminium from Norway reached 1,337,500 metric tons. In this country, Norsk Hydro becomes the biggest company in the production of aluminium.


9.United States of America

The United States of America is the 9th biggest producer of aluminium. In 2019, the production of United States’ aluminium reached 1,126,032 metric tons. Based on the company, there are some producers of aluminium in the U.S.A. These companies are Alcoa, Century aluminium, Magnitude 7 Metals, Glencore, and Ormet.


10.Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia becomes the 10th biggest producer of aluminium. In 2019, the production of Saudi Arabia reached 967,000 metric tons. In this country, Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) manages the production of aluminium in this country.


11.Malaysia      

Malaysia become the 11th biggest producer of Aluminium. Statistically in 2019, the production of aluminium from Malaysia reached 760,000 metric tons. Aluminium Company of Malaysia Bhd is one the largest aluminium companies in Malaysia.


12.South Africa

South Africa is the 12th biggest producer of Aluminium. In the year 2019, the production of aluminium in this country reached 717,000 metric tons. In this country, there are aluminium smelters in Richards Bay in Kwazulu Natal operated by BHP.


13.Iceland         

Iceland is the 13th biggest producer of Aluminium. In 2019, the production of Aluminium in Iceland reached 682,616 metric tons. Straumsvík, Hvalfjörður, and Reyðarfjörður are some of aluminium smelter in Iceland. Based on the business, some of the companies have an aluminium operation areas in Iceland, namely Rio Tinto, Glencore, and Alcoa.


14.Brazil            

Brazil is the 14th biggest producer of Aluminium. In 2019, the production from Brazil reached 650,200 metric tons.  The state of Pará is an area of aluminium production in Brazil with Norway’s Norsk Hydro having an operation in this State.


15.Qatar

Qatar is the 15th biggest producer of Aluminium. In 2019, the production from Qatar reached 627,400 metric tons. Qatar Aluminium Limited (Q.S.C) or commonly known as Qatalum is the biggest company in Qatar as an aluminium producer.
