Asia still becomes the main production area with output of meat reached 5.5 million tons. Europe are behind the Asia with output of duck meat reached 441 thousand tons. 1.China     

China is the world’s largest producer of duck meat in 2021. In terms of duck raising areas, several duck breeding areas spread across several provinces such as Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang. In 2021, the production of duck meat in China reached 4.8 million tons.


2.Vietnam

Vietnam is one of the South-East Asia countries besides Malaysia and Thailand with the highest production of duck meat globally. In 2021, the production of duck meat in Vietnam reached 182 thousand tons. In the country whose capital is Ho Chi Minh City, duck farms spread across several provinces such as Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Hau Giang, and Dong Thap.


 3. France

France is the 3rd biggest producer of Duck Meat in 2021. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT), the production of duck meat from France reached 177,000 tons. Geographically, in France, the production and fattening of duck is around Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrénées, Pays de la Loire, Poitou, and Brittany. In the culinary menus, some of the duck meat in France can be processed into   Confit De Canard and Magret De Canard. these menus used duck meat as the ingredients.


4.Hungary

Hungary is one of the European Union Countries that have the highest duck meat production. In 2021, the production of duck meat in Hungary reached 89 thousand tons. In this country, there are several large duck processing companies, namely the Trnzit Group with its product Goldenfood brand.


5.Taiwan     

People in Taiwan have been raising ducks for a long time. They have a long history, experience, and journey with these birds. This country has been cultivating ducks for 300 years ago. Based on the duck species, the Muscovy duck, mule duck, and Peking duck are the most widely bred species. In addition, several duck farms are scattered in several areas in Taiwan such as Yilan, Yunlin, Chiayi, and Taichung. Statistically, in 2021, based on data from FAO, the production of duck meat in Taiwan reached 78 thousand tons.


6.South Korea

Besides being famous for its Ginseng, South Korea is also famous for its poultry production, especially its ducks’ production. In 2021, the production of duck meat in South Korea reached 74 thousand tons. Geographically, several areas that becomes the main raising area of duck are Damyang, Suncheon, Yeongam, Jangheung, and Naju.

In general, some duck farming areas in Malaysia distributes into several states, namely Perak, Kelantan, Malacca, Pahang, Penang, and Selangor.


8. Bangladesh

Bangladesh is the 8th world’s biggest producer of duck meat in 2021. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database, the production of duck Meat from Bangladesh reached 60,461 tons. Geograhically, Netrokona and Gaibandha are two important duck raising areas in Bangladesh.


9. Thailand

Thailand is the 9th world’s biggest producer of duck meat in 2021. According to FAO Statistical Coporate Database FAOSTAT), the production of duck meat from Thailand reached 59,803 tons. In particular, geograhically, duck production is concentrated along the Chao Phraya River (Gilbert et al., 2007).  In this country, species of Peking and white Cherry Valley are raised for meat.


10. Poland

Poland is the largest producer of duck meat in Europe besides Hungary. In 2021, the production of duck meat in Poland reached 57 thousand tons. In general, many of their duck meat products are exported to several countries such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong.
