10 World’s Biggest Wool Producers- According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database in 2020, there are 10 World’s Biggest Wool Producers. Commonly, wool is one of the essential raw materials in the clothing industries. Some of the wool raw materials can be obtained from Sheep, goats, bison, rabbits and others. . 

Statistically, in 2020, the production of Wool in 2020 reached 1.7 million tons with multi regions of base productions. Asia still become the biggest area of production with 843 thousand tons of wool. Furthermore, the second position is in Oceania regions with 434 thousand tons, Africa with 201 thousand tons, and Europe with 190 thousand tons.

1.China, mainland

China is biggest producer of Wool in 2020. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT) in 2020, the production of Wool from China reached 333,624 tons. Geographically, China has some main areas of Wool Productions. Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Hebei, Jilin, Shandong, Gansu Qinghai, Heilongjiang are some of the provinces with the biggest production of Wool.

2.Australia

Australia became the second-biggest producer of Wool in 2020. According to FAO Statistical Corporate Database (FAOSTAT) in 2020, the production  of Kangaroo country reached 283,794 tons in 2020. Geographically, there is the biggest area of wool production in Australia. These regions are in New South Wales as the the greatest area in Australia, followed by Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia.

3.New Zealand

New Zealand is the third-biggest producer of Wool in 2020. According to FAO Corporate Statistical Database (FAOSTAT) in 2020, the production of Wool from New Zealand reached 151,192 tons. Geographically, South and North islands still became the main base production of wool because of huge populations of sheep

4.Turkey

Turkey is the fourth-biggest producer of Wool in 2020. Statistically, the production of Wool from Turkey in 2020 reached 79,754 tons. 

5.United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is in the 5th rank as the biggest producer of Wool. in 2020, based on the FAO Statistical Corporate Database in 2020, the production of wool from this countries reached 70,967 tons

6.Morocco

Morocco is the 6th biggest producer of Wool in 2020, the production Wool from this country reached 58,839 tons. 

7.Iran (Islamic Republic of)

Iran is the 7th biggest producer of Wool in 2020. Statistically, the production of Wool from this country reached 58,372 tons.

8.Russian Federation

The Russian Federation is the 8th biggest producer of Wool in 2020. According to FAO Corporate Statistical Database, the production of Wool from this country reached 51,660 tons. Geographically, Stavropol Region still one of the best are of wool production

9.South Africa

South Africa is the 9th biggest producer of Wool in 2020. According to FAO Corporate Statistical Database in 2020, the production of Wool from this country reached 47,287 tons. Geographically, there are some regions of Wool Production in South Africa. Eastern Cape is biggest area of Wool in South Africa, followed by the Free State, Western Cape, Northern Cape, and Mpumalanga.

10.India

India is the 10th biggest producer of Wool in 2020. Statistically, according to FAO Corporate Statistical Database in 2020, the production of Wool in Mahatma Gandhi’s country reached 45,844 tons. Geographically, there are some states of wool production. Rajasthann, Telangana, Karnataka, and Gujarat are some of the main areas of Wool production in India.
